Collaborative Experimental Film Practices Across Borders: Feminist Struggle from the Home to the Streets Through Collaboration, Performance, and Film.












FOR MY DOCTORAL DISSERTATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN, I AM COLLABORATING WITH FEMINIST ARTISTS-ACTIVSITS IN MADRID, SPAIN WHO ADVOCATE FOR RIGHTS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF GENDER EQUALITY, DOMESTIC LABOR AND CARE WORK, AND MIGRATION. TOGETHER, WE MAKE EXPERIMENTAL ANALOG SHORT FILMS ABOUT THESE ISSUES. OUR FILMS SCREEN IN PUBLIC ART SPACES AND MUSEUMS IN SPAIN, UNIVERSITIES IN THE US, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THROUGH DIGITAL SOLIDARITY NETWORKS VIA WHATSAPP.


I COLLABORATE WITH TERRITORIO DOMESTICO AND LAS CAMINANTAS. THE WOMEN THAT COMPRISE THESE TWO COLLECTIVES ARE ACTIVISTS-ARTISTS-ACTRESSES-SUPERMODELS-WRITERS-STORYTELLERS-WORLDCHANGERS-AND NATIONAL POLICY-INFLUENCERS.
